For players

Sand doubles or indoor sixes: join the volleyball league you meant to.

Surface and format are set separately and both show on the event page, so a gym league and a two-a-side sand league stop pretending to be one thing.

Finding one

Surface is the thing to check first.

Sand doubles asks for a different body and a different Saturday than indoor sixes, and a league listing that blurs them makes you read every page to find the one you want. Here they are separate fields, so a league says its surface rather than leaving you to guess.

Getting in

Pairs, sixes, or on your own.

A pair enters together and splits it. A full indoor roster does the same at its own size. Alone, you make yourself available and get picked up — which for sand doubles usually means being partnered rather than added to a team.

Before you turn up

What the volleyball you enter has already settled.

Every one of these is decided by the organizer before entries open rather than argued about in week three, and whatever they have settled is on the event page under “What is set” — so you read the rules before you enter, not at the field on the first night.

Court time is not ours. Sand courts are rented by the hour and gym slots are booked by the organizer, so when a session moves or a court is lost that is their arrangement, and nothing here can hold it for you.

Common Questions

Is sand actually a separate listing?
Yes, as a real field alongside format rather than a note in the description. Indoor sixes and sand doubles differ in almost everything that decides whether you want to play, so they are filterable apart.
Can I enter without a partner?
For doubles most organizers keep a list of players looking for a partner. Entering alone puts you on it; who you end up with is their call rather than an automatic match.
Do I need an account to look around?
No. Browsing is open to anyone — leagues, clubs, tournaments and races are all readable without signing in. You only need an account to register for something, because a registration has to belong to somebody.
How does paying work?
Registering and paying are one step, by card. Where the event asks for a waiver you sign it in the same checkout rather than printing it and carrying it to the field. The money goes to the organizer running the event rather than sitting with us until the season ends.
What if I do not have a team?
Races, tournaments and open days take you exactly as you are — one entry, one person. A league season is entered by a team, so instead of registering alone you list yourself as available to play and the teams that are a body short come and find you. Nothing is paid until one of them takes you on.
What happens if it is already full?
For a race, a tournament or an open day, a waitlist place confirms itself the moment somebody drops out. A league season queues by team instead, and the side that comes off the queue gets a window to settle the entry before the spot moves on. Where the field is capped by permit, entry may run as a draw with a claim window instead.
Something went wrong with my registration. Who do I ask?
The organizer first. They run the event, they can see your registration and they are the one who can change or refund it. If you cannot reach them, we will help — but they are faster, because it is their event.
What do I keep afterwards?
One profile carrying every registration, result and standing, across every sport you play here. A season of kickball and a spring half marathon sit in the same place rather than across two organizers and a timing company.
