For players

Full court on a Tuesday, or a basketball league that runs to twenty-one.

Whether a league runs timed periods or plays to a score, full court or half, is on its page before you commit a season to it.

Finding one

The format tells you what the night is.

Timed periods on a full court is a different commitment from 3v3 to twenty-one, and the two attract different players. Both are listed, and each league says which it plays, and the league states which it is rather than leaving you to infer it from a team name.

Getting in

Rosters enter together. Everyone else gets found.

A roster enters and pays in one step. On your own, put your name up as free to play and let the short sides find it — which in most rec basketball is how half the league arrived.

Before you turn up

What the basketball you enter has already settled.

Every one of these is decided by the organizer before entries open rather than argued about in week three, and whatever they have settled is on the event page under “What is set” — so you read the rules before you enter, not at the field on the first night.

Common Questions

Can a league play to a score instead of a clock?
Yes, and it says which it does. Game format is a choice the organizer makes between timed periods and score-to-win, and the standings table is then kept in the shape that sport is actually scored in.
Are stats kept for individual players?
That depends on whether the league records them. The per-player stat line exists, but somebody has to enter it, so a league that only submits final scores will have standings and no individual numbers.
Do I need an account to look around?
No. Browsing is open to anyone — leagues, clubs, tournaments and races are all readable without signing in. You only need an account to register for something, because a registration has to belong to somebody.
How does paying work?
Registering and paying are one step, by card. Where the event asks for a waiver you sign it in the same checkout rather than printing it and carrying it to the field. The money goes to the organizer running the event rather than sitting with us until the season ends.
What if I do not have a team?
Races, tournaments and open days take you exactly as you are — one entry, one person. A league season is entered by a team, so instead of registering alone you list yourself as available to play and the teams that are a body short come and find you. Nothing is paid until one of them takes you on.
What happens if it is already full?
For a race, a tournament or an open day, a waitlist place confirms itself the moment somebody drops out. A league season queues by team instead, and the side that comes off the queue gets a window to settle the entry before the spot moves on. Where the field is capped by permit, entry may run as a draw with a claim window instead.
Something went wrong with my registration. Who do I ask?
The organizer first. They run the event, they can see your registration and they are the one who can change or refund it. If you cannot reach them, we will help — but they are faster, because it is their event.
What do I keep afterwards?
One profile carrying every registration, result and standing, across every sport you play here. A season of kickball and a spring half marathon sit in the same place rather than across two organizers and a timing company.
